We, the neighbours of the square in La Cortijera, La Cala de Mijas heard of the dire situation concerning Thomas Leighton and decided we should do something to help a fellow ex-pat family.

Therefore on Saturday 21st June, we are organising a FUN DAY to raise as much money as we can to assist with the problems they face.
We already have such attractions as a bouncy castle for the children, plus clowns and face painting, a BBQ, tombola, an auction by Maurice Boland and horse racing run by the La Cala branch of the Lions Club as well as many more events.
I am contacting you to see if you will help us in any way possible with a donation of anything from a sausage for the Barbie, a free meal or a trip abroad, so please show up and support us.
We have promises of support from the Town Crier newspaper, the SUR in English, REM FM, and a two-page spread in the Spanish Sun newspaper.
Any company making a donation will naturally get the credit in the newspaper as well as our posters and flyers.
    So please give serious consideration to this request and contact us by Email or call into the Sussex Bar in the square of La Cortijera where we can bring you up to date with events. I myself am there from 10am-10pm everyday at your disposal.
